I believe you, that you can't see them. I expect most people won't see the potential uses, and how much utility there is depends a lot on the particular bonuses and what someone intends to do with them.

There are quite a few ships out there with double (or even triple) damage bonuses. As far as I have seen, there is no ship class out there that has a double tanking bonus. There are clear uses for such a ship, though I suspect it wouldn't be all...

The first idea is interesting, the second is not so much. We already have ships with resistance bonuses that you can fly, and the repairer bonus is used and useful to many players.

Drakes are supposed to be losing their Kinetic damage boost in favor of a ROF boost anyway. This would be far more effective in PvE tanks.

Minmatar has specific PvP ships that are good, but a lot of the lineup is gimped just like the Naglfar because apparently split weapon systems are "versatile" instead of a waste of high slots.

T3: Jack of All trades, master of most. The baseline T3 setup has 6 skill bonuses and all the slot, tank, and speed of a tier 4 cruiser. I don't think it's necessarily bad, but it is the definitive answer to "what subcap ship should I fly for X".

The "black tunnel effect" is a graphics glitch itself. There's supposed to be a streaming effect. The black tunnel is cooler IMHO. The loss of textures looks like some memory leak side-effects I've seen in the past.
